Member Council insights: Steve Marth

Recently, I reflected on how SME opened doors in my career. When I graduated from college, I stepped into my first job as a manufacturing engineer at a small tube-bending shop. The reality was challenging, we were missing deadlines and drowning in excess inventory. I quickly realized there had to be a better way to run production. That’s when my manager handed me a book from SME on lean manufacturing, sparking a journey that would profoundly shape my career. From the moment I started reading, I was hooked.
