SME’s North American Manufacturing Research Conference Issues Call for Papers August 09, 2018 by SME Communications (SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Aug. 9, 2018) — SME’s North American Manufacturing Research Conference (NAMRC), the premier international forum for applied research and industrial applications in manufacturing and design, recently issued its annual call for papers. NAMRC, now in its 47th year, annually attracts more than 800 researchers and manufacturers from around the world. The 2019 conference, scheduled to take place June 10-14 at Penn State Behrend in Erie, Pennsylvania, is co-located with ASME’s International Manufacturing Science and Engineering Conference. “NAMRC and its associated research papers are essential in moving manufacturing and advanced technologies forward,” said Hitomi Yamaguchi Greenslet, Dr. Eng., FSME, an associate professor at the University of Florida and the 2018-19 president of the North American Manufacturing Research Institution of SME (NAMRI/SME). “Since 2015, we have seen a 98 percent increase in submissions, particularly papers focusing on processes, additive and smart/cyber-physical systems. To continue this upward trend and expanded focus, we encourage authors from academia and industry to submit their papers for consideration.” NAMRC 47 conference tracks: · Track 1: Manufacturing Systems – General Submission · Track 2: Manufacturing Processes – General Submission · Track 3: Material Removal · Track 4: Additive Manufacturing · Track 5: Smart Manufacturing and Cyber-Physical Systems · Track 6: Industrial Applications and Manufacturing Education Paper submissions are due Nov. 5 for academia; authors from industry can submit their papers until Nov. 30, with the option to present abstracts only at NAMRC 47.
